Busy Week

I haven't posted on here in quite some time, but in all honesty, not much has happened. Then again, I have been swamped with work and school, so there is a good chance I simply haven't paid enough attention to notice.

With that said, it has been a busy week, paranormally speaking.

Earlier this week, Gabe (my husband) and I were in bed watching a movie. Our boys were all sound asleep and our teenage daughter was spending the night elsewhere. Suddenly, we both heard a loud "MOM" coming from downstairs. It sounded as if my daughter were standing at the bottom of the stairs, calling up to me because something was wrong. However, I knew she wasn't home and I thought it odd for anyone to be calling me from downstairs as no one was down there. Gabe went to investigate and found no one or nothing amiss.

Wednesday I worked from home because I was not feeling well. Our home office is on the lowest level of our condo (our condo is three stories), situated immediately behind the garage. As I was at my desk, I heard a soft thump and someone call for help, as if they were injured, had stumbled into something and were too weak to help themselves. It sounded as if it were coming from either inside my garage or immediately around it, but when I checked, no one was to be found anywhere.

Then last night, all of my children were in bed and Gabe was at work (he works 3rd shift). I am a very light sleeper, to the point of simply opening my bedroom door usually wakes me up unless you are very careful and quiet about it....a trait none of my children possess. My children all have a habit of coming into my room during the night and waking me, because they either aren't even remotely quiet about it or because they leave the door open, so the light from the hallway wakes me up. I also have been in the habit of locking my door at night to prevent this, knowing they would knock if they needed me. I have insomnia and very rarely sleep at night. I wake up at 2am almost every night and last night was no different. However, this time, I woke up to the light on my husband's side of the bed on. Now, this puzzled me for a few reasons.

1. My bed is nestled into a small nook with a window. The window is large and we have a light mounted on either side of the window, which just happens to fall on each side of the bed, like night reading laps. If you are laying on your side of the bed, you just have to reach behind your head to turn your light on. However, to turn the light on on the other side of the bed, you have to actually get up to do so, you can't reach it from your side of the bed. Meaning, I could not have turned it on in my sleep, as I would have had to actually get up to do so.

2. Due to the size of the nook and the positioning of our bed, a child would not be able to reach the switch without actually getting into the bed. So there is no way one of my children would have been able to sneak into my room and turn the light on, because the second they got into the bed, it would have woke me.

3. My husband tried to use the light the other night and it would not turn on. We assumed the bulb blew out and I am pretty sure the light was then unplugged.

So how the light turned on is a mystery to me. No one was awake when I woke either.
